Caring For Your Gramicci Pieces

Use these steps to keep your favorite sweater at its peak for as long as possible.
Wash:
- For best results, wash immediately after wear.
- Remember to always separate colors–darks with darks and lights with lights
- Skip the lighteners and brighteners even for light fabrics. They don’t agree with our blends.
- If machine washing, use the gentlest cycle with cold water and a laundry net for maximum protection. Otherwise, handwash in cold water.
- Whether machine or hand washing, use minimal detergent.
Dry:
- Always rack dry, never machine tumble dry.
- Be sure to turn the sweater inside out, reshape it, and lay it flat.
Care:
- For wrinkles, use steam or an iron on the low-heat wool setting.
- If pilling occurs, we recommend carefully removing the pills with a pill removal device, such as a pill comb or an electric shaver.
- Some fabrics transfer color due to rubbing, and the issue worsens with moisture (water or sweat).
- Pay attention to fabrics that do this and avoid wearing them with your Gramicci sweater.
- Knits do best when folded, as hangers can cause stretching over time.
- Keep natural moth repellents in your closet for safekeeping.
